THE BEGINNING

March 25, 2017 by David Abdelmalak in Musings

In a way, this is the hardest entry to write.

Beginnings are tough. You start with a blank page and you have aspirations for what that page could become, but you don't know where to begin. I might have to plagiarise just to get myself started...

In the beginning this blog was formless and devoid of content. It started with an idea and a desire to create. And so words were written and this website began its existence. (That was subtle, right?)

Aletheia is a greek word that means 'truth' or 'disclosure'. It's a word used in religious and philosophical texts to explore the real nature of a subject and get to the heart of a matter. I hope this blog can do the same.

The words I write are mainly for myself and my sanity - to explore and make sense of the world around me through essays, short stories and musings. But just like any act of creation and creativity, I hope these words will have a life beyond mine.

Well I think that's enough of an introduction. Was that as painful to read as it was to write? Oh well...

Hopefully it only gets better from here.
